We are starting a second home-raising!

Located in Upper Langley on Lot #15 just a few lots south of the first home-raising at Lot #10, this will be the home of a local, workforce family with five school-age children. It will also be permanently affordable with a deed restriction that limits the resale price to appreciate at 1.5%/year, so the price never increases to market value.
A social investor helped the family purchase the lot. The Whidbey Community Foundation helped to launch the financing of this home-raising with two bridge loans at 3% interest: $25,000 from the Whidbey Affordable Housing Fund, and $25,000 from their Impact Investment Fund. We have other social investors pledged for the additional financing.
We are deeply grateful to FACET Engineering for their generous pro bono donation of engineering for this new home-raising, which will have a daylight basement.
