Thank you Whidbey Community Foundation!

A home-raising is funded by social investors who lend money for the land purchase and house build, which is then paid back at the time the mortgage closes.

We are very appreciative to the Whidbey Community Foundation for their $50,000 loan to Whidbey Home-Raising: $25,000 from their Affordable Housing Fund, and $25,000 from their Impact Investment Fund. The interest rate was 3%.

The balance of the funds needed for this home-raising were made by social investment loans from individuals in the community.

On June 5th, Jessie Gunn, Executive Director, Jane Spalding, Board Member, and Angela Brock, Grants Committee, visited the home-raising, which is nearing completion. The loan was made on July 1, 2025, and helped fund the initial phase of the home-raising, but it was fun to get the big check during their visit!
